The toughest under the South Tyrolean sun set off on this difficult, 480 km long full-day tour. First you ride via Bolzano to Bressanone and from there into the Puster Valley to the East Tyrolean capital of Lienz. You reach Heiligenblut via the Iselsberg Pass (1,208 m). About 8 kilometres further on, it is worth making a detour to the Franz-Josefs-Höhe (2,369 m). From there you can enjoy magnificent panoramic views of the Grossglockner (3,797 m) and the glacier tongue below.

At the foot of Austria's highest mountain

You then take the toll road Großglockner Hochalpenstraße past Bruck and Mittersill and continue through the Felbertauern Tunnel, which is also subject to tolls. You pass Matrei and finally reach the Staller Sattel via Huben and Hopfgarten in Defreggen. From here you are back in the South Tyrolean Puster Valley. Your return journey takes you through the Antholz Valley and then via Bruneck, Brixen and Bolzano back to the Eggental Valley to the Hotel Mondschein.
