Around the Marmolada
Marmolada Glacier - Karer Pass - Passo Fedaia - Malga Ciapela - Sottoguda Gorge - Passo Valles - Lavazè Pass
There is plenty of snow to admire on this 235-kilometre, medium-difficulty full-day tour, which takes you around the Marmolada glacier. You drive over the Karer Pass into the Fassa Valley and then onto the Passo Fedaia. Incidentally, helicopter tours over the Marmolada and the Dolomites are offered from here - an exceptionally beautiful experience! Not far from here is Malga Ciapela, from where the cable car takes mountain enthusiasts up to the Marmolada glacier at an altitude of 3,259 metres.
At the highest mountain peak in the Dolomites, you are literally on its roof.
From Malga Ciapela, a detour into the wild and romantic Sottoguda Gorge is well worthwhile. The route continues through the Fassa Valley towards Belluno, past the Lago del Mis, over the Franche and the Passo Valles to Paneveggio. Here, too, there is an attraction to marvel at: the deer enclosure in the nature park. There is also a wood museum just 500 metres from Paneveggio, to which you have free admission. From here, you continue through the Fiemme Valley, past Predazzo, Tesero and Stava over the Lavazè Pass and back to your Hotel Mondschein.
